Our Wedding Magazine shoot

A few weeks ago Stephanie, my office mate and partner in crime, worked on a photo shoot for Our Wedding Magazine. I didn't get the memo that Jen, of the Memory Journalist, ,
might be taking photos of us so I didn't put a lot of time into hair and make up.
The wind was blowing so much that day it wouldn't have mattered anyway...I do think my son Sam looks pretty cute!
Can't wait to show you the photo shoot...stay tuned, check for it in June.

Gabriel's Pears

Todays I had to get personal with you. I always wished I could draw, really it was one of those talents I don't posses, but dreamed of. No matter how many times I put pencil to paper it just didn't happen. Many of my brides know this. I try to sketch a bouquet and I think they kind of wish I wouldn't have, it makes them lose all confidence in what their flowers will look like.
All this to say, I am amazed that I have children with this ability!
Several of my children can draw and paint in ways I never dreamed!
Last night my youngest son, Gabriel won a blue ribbon in an art show! I am so proud of him! I just had to have a mom moment and shout it out to you all.

Aaron and Kim part II centerpieces

Last week you saw Aaron and Kim's ceremony flowers, today I'll show you what we did up stairs. Kim wanted to add pops of color, pink, green and white. We made flower balls and placed them on mercury pillars, then every other table had mercury glass with candles.
For the head table we did a combination of candles and flower balls.

Kim and Aaron at The Citizen Hotel

One of the first weddings of this season was Aaron and Kim's at the fabulous Citizen Hotel in downtown Sacramento. I love the vintage vibe of this venue.
The photography is by truelovephoto.com/blog

For the bride we did solid black and white anemones, then wrapped the stems in silver and finished it off with rhinestone broaches.

Aaron is an engineer, I have soft spot for engineers, I married one! He constructed the ceremony structure, it looked gorgeous in the Citizen ballroom. I then hung strands of orchids to create a floating flowers.

The cake was done by the fabulous crazycakecompany.com

It was stunning with the gorgeous linen

We have come along way from the flower girl tossing a few petals! Take a look at this gorgeous creation from one of my top designers. While I was busy working the orchid strands, I gave him a general idea of what I wanted, and wow, he out did himself.

Anne & Arron @ River Highlands Ranch & Vineyard IV

Today we get to the end of Anne and Aaron's wedding, I just had to stretch this post out because I really love the wedding!
So many details, from the signs starting down the road, to a basket of bug repellent, just in case.
The venue, riverhighlandsranch.com was elegant yet warm and welcoming.
The fabulous photography was by one of my all time favorites,tanjalippertphotography.blogspot.com

After the lovely outdoor ceremony, the guests made their way up the lawn toward the barn where they could mingle inside or out! Umbrellas were raised at the outdoor tables and candles lit inside.

Bug spray was out, just in case the bugs decided to come to the wedding.

We hung orchids on the inside of the umbrellas, it's all in the details.
I
I love the outdoor fire pit, we used these colorful bottles to add candles.

Once inside the barn, a comfy lounge awaited. I had custom pillows made to brighten up the room and placed colorful candles all around the room.

After an hour, the large inside barn doors were open to reveal the dinner portion of the evening. The barn has several large barn doors letting the outside in, the guests were able to enjoy the lovely evening and their beautiful surroundings.
We created a series of tall and medium centerpieces on rod iron stands with candles, then placed a moss runner the whole length of the table with votive candles and pillar candles.

The table extended outside with the bride and groom at the end acting as hosts.
Bride and groom garlands.

Dancing the night away.

I wish all the best to Anne and Aaron!

Anne & Arron @ River Highlands Ranch & Vineyard III

Today Anne and Aaron's ceremony details. For the outdoor ceremony I went with bright fall florals to add pops of color. Lots of details here, we started the aisle back on the lawn with poles filled with flowers and then added larger floral arrangments on the aisle proper.
Coming to the platform we brought in a large gate and fence to drape garland and Anne's favorite, a heart.

The aisle at High River Ranch is made up of flag stone and rock, it looks so beautiful and blends in with the natural setting of the wedding venue.
Close up of aisle flowers, zinnias, Mary golds, amaranths, berries made a lovely fall flower display.

River Highlands Ranch is such a gorgeous outdoor wedding location, the tall old oak trees, vast sky, pastoral views and a wonderful staff.
