Woodsey centerpieces

Now here is a recycling project that speaks to me. Old rusty cans, used as the sign in! Darling, love it!

All I have is an i phone photo, but these are such cute centerpieces. Simple and sweet a slice of log with a bowl for a vase, and viola!

Spa fresh flowers! Eco friendly too

Sometimes I wonder if I have split personality? I LOVE bling, sparkle, antiques, feathers, girlie, girl things... but then there is the me that loves clean, simple, fresh modern...I guess it just depends on the day, the mood and often the wedding...

Details Matter

Details, details, details! It is easy to think of all the big things, centerpieces, bridal bouquets, corsages etc... but often it is the little things that will set your wedding day apart from otheres. A flower at each place setting, flowers on the backs of chairs, a flower on a chandelier. All together add up to a wow! when your guests come in the room.

Here are a few more images from the day

Capitola Wedding Ceremony part 2

Whats old is new! I know baby's breath is a no no, but once again if you take a flower and mass it together beautiful things happen.
Clusters of baby's breath and candles add to the charm of the Shawdowbrook Restaurant.

Shawdowbrook Restaurant has been around for many years! I loved the rustic 70's vibe.
Notice the candles on the floor.

Capitola wedding at the Shawdowbrook Restaurant

Now the one thing you need to know about the Shawdowbrook restaurant is that it has the only operational tram in existence! Very cool, unless that is you are hauling down 10 trips worth of flowers, chandeliers, candles etc... o.k. it really is marvelous but quite the little workout.

The three flights of stairs you go down AFTER you have taken the tram.

Nicole and John's wedding was lots of fun as it brought together a few fabulous vendors from the Sacramento area, Jennifer from http://www.memoryjournalists.com/ was the photograher,
Carissa with sugarandspice.me did a fabulous dessert bar and amazing cake that matched the invitation that was designed by stationary exdrordineree, Stephanie of stephaniejdesigns.blogspot.com. You really need to go the the Memory Journalist blog to see what an amazing job Carrisa did in matching the cake to the paper!

Also along for the fun was Phil of sheffieldmultimedia.com I will post the video as soon as it comes out.

Now onto the flowers!

These are some of my all time favorite boutonieers.

The bridal party flowers were made up of chocolate orchids, hyacinth, muscari, roses, galax leaves, ping pong scabiosa. I used satin ribbon and then fresh emblelishments down the front.

The centerpieces were composed of thistle, roses, Hyacinth, succulents, ranuculus and spider mums.
The reception room had glass windows that look out to the flowing river. We hung mini chandeliers from the ceiling to add a candlelit glow when it got dark.

Morning coffee or I love wedding blogs!

I really do love my computer, I totally don't know how to use it most of the time, but I love it anyway.
I have a little morning routine, I wake up send my husband off to work then I sit on the couch with the best cup of Joe you ever tasted. I cruise lots of wedding blogs, I love photography sites, planning sites, and now and then I hit the big cities and see what the citified floral designers are doing. It is my favorite time of day, all my children are safe and sleeping, (it's nice to know where they all are for these brief moments).
It's also been a privilege and lots of fun to have my work featured on so many different blogs! In fact in the last 3 months Blooms has been featured in Hong Kong, Ireland, London and as of yesterday, Paris!!!
While checking out a post Jamie of itsajaimething.com did of my work, I found I had a comment, (see how this works, your on one blog, then you HAVE to click to the other blog etc.... and so on and then oh no you better get the kids in the car to get them to school)
Anyhoo, I came across http://www.luxeproductionsnw.blogspot/ the owner, Misty had left a comment about my work so of course I knew she must be fabulous because she liked my stuff and she is! I browsed her blog and loved it, you should take a minute and browse it too!

I have heard of wedding planners, wedding consultants, event planners, etc.... but Misty is a, are you ready? She is a Celebration consultant! I just love that title, it sums up what this is all about, the celebrations of our lives, be it a wedding, birthday, anniversary, shower these occasions aren't just obligations or formalities, they are the chance to celebrate, to bring together people we love to share in our lives, and hey as far as I"m concerned that's what life is all about!

Thats me, celebrating that it's Friday!

Vamp up your wedding

My office mate, and good friend, Stephanie of stephaniejdesigns.blogspot.com created these Twilight movie inspired invitations. She made these for a girls night out, but I think they would be fabulous for the bride who wants her wedding to be a little on the sexy side!

Who says vases have to be standard??? This lady adds a bit of vampy style to the cocktail hour.

Lower the lights! There is nothing more romantic than candle light!

Don't be afraid to go out on a limb with linens, these furry table tops are out of this world

Feathers just add a bit of sexy whimsy.
All the flower photos were taken by Jacqueline of www.jacquelinephotographyblog.net

Suprise 50th birthday at Granite Bay Golf Club

My client was such a doll, she wanted to plan a surprise 50th for her husband. She even opened a secret email account so he wouldn't stumble onto the r.s.v.p.s
Mark LOVES golf, so the party had a golf theme.
We used wheat grass, white carnation balls and glorisoa lilies to add a pop of color to each table.

Each table had it's own hole in one!
Birthday boy, well not really just a life size cut out of him!
