Todays post isn't much of a flower post, but the images by Meredith Davenport of the Christian Oth Studio in New York, were so beautiful I just had to share. Jennifer and Maciej Choose Calistoga Ranch in Calistoga California as their perfect wedding site. When you arrive at Calistoga Ranch, your car is parked and you spend your visit either walking or being chauffeured around in golf carts. It makes for a very peaceful stay. Jennifer started the wedding journey with darling save the dates, done as dish towels with their theme of "One big love feast". The wedding invitations went out with real spoons attached, so cute! We carried the spoon and love feast theme throughout the wine cave wedding reception, which you will see next week. Jennifer and Maciej's invitation is currently being featured in Real Simples Current wedding magazine. As Jennifer and Maciej got ready they were so sweet sending gifts back and forth to each other via gold cart. Jennifer received jewelry, and Maciej received a Mac ipad! Details, details, details. This wedding was just full of special touches everywhere. At the start of the bridge leading to the wedding ceremony we attached moss hearts and laced the bridge with roses. Then we created a birch structure and wove it with hundredres of white roses. The aisle was strew with rose petals. After the ceremony our couple headed out for more wedding photos on a golf cart decorated with another moss heart. The brides bouquet was made up of David Austin roses, garden roses, spray roses etc...all wrapped in a beautiful Midori silk ribbon. Jennifer and Maciej live in New York but were planning a Calistoga wedding. So to make things a little easier, they choose to have their rehearsal dinner on site at Calistoga Ranch where their wedding would take place the next day. Jennifers' mom was instrumental in helping to design and coordinate the weekend. They went with Mexican food for the rehearsal dinner and Gail made sure the theme was carried througout the evening. From the table linens she had flown in from a resort in Mexico, the family had vacationed there, to the mariachi players. Blooms, didn't want to miss a detail either! So we opened lots of cans and bottles of hot sauce to create the flower arrangements in. I loved the finished product. Careful though, if you decide to use those cute little hot sauce bottles, my staff and I were coughing for an hour as we poured out the hot sauce, but hey, it clears the sinus. Hey what can I say we are dedicated. The fabulous photography is by Meredith Davenport of the Christian Oth Studio in New York
Succulents are very big in wedding flowers this season. Rather than go with the natural, earthy look, I thought it would be fun to mix it up and add bright colors. Bringing together, craspedia, succulents, and green Kermit mums. Then wrapping it all in fabulous polka dots and green buttons. For centerpieces apothecary jars filled with succulents and flowers, with little floral balls to accent. Then for the wedding guest table a potted topiary of green Kermit mums and Billy balls.
