Wedding at Hans Fahden Winery Calistoga California

We set up a draped structure to define the ceremony area

Along with white organza draping we strung hundreds of orchids from the ceremony structure.
We also created swirling petal aisle for the bride to walk on to meet the groom.

Floating candles with submerged orchids adorned the cocktail tables.

The bride and each bridesmaid carried a different variety of orchids. The bride carried purple phalaenopsis orchid. Then the bridesmaids carried cymbidium orchids and dendrobium orchids.

The head table for the bride and groom in the wine cave. Wall candles draped in floral garland.

Viansa Wedding Sonoma California

Chun called me from Hawaii to plan her Sonoma wedding. We never actually met face to face until the day of the wedding but between phone calls and emails I was able to capture the vision she had for her wedding day.
Chun and Marc were married at the beautiful Viansa winery in Sonoma, http://www.viansa.com/

Elegant simplicity, an aisle of baby's breath.

The reception was and eclectic mix of containers. Each table was done with it's own style.

Head table chair garlands.

Wedding details

While most brides are eager to talk about and plan their bridal bouquet, ceremony flowers, centerpieces etc.... it's the floral details that excite me the most. A garland strung around a chandelier, a beautiful floral cluster on the back of the bride and grooms chair, or a wreath of fresh flowers like one shown here hung on an entrance door to greet your guests. These are the details that often set your wedding apart and create that extra special feeling for your wedding day.

Corsages as jewelry

When considering the corsages for your wedding, consider adding a little bling to your pieces. The mothers will be wearing elegant dresses or gowns and a few rhinestones or pearls can really accent their ensemble. Whether they choose to pin on or wear a wristlet the possiblities are unlimited. If they do choose a wrist corsage to walk down the aisle, the choices here have improved quite a bit since the day of your prom. Gone are the silver stretchy, replaced by rhinesones, pearls and many other braceletts designed to look like jewelry.

Flower girls

Anyone who know me knows I love children, I should, I have 7! One of the best parts of a wedding are the children involved especially the little girls. I was one of those girls who had her wedding planned by the time I was 3. I still remember how it felt to play dress up and dream of being a princess. I think that's why a flower wand is my favorite choice for flower girl accessories. What better way to "play" princess than to get to be in a wedding, walk down the aisle all dressed up in a spinney dress carrying a flower wand.

I also love making little baskets or purses out of flowers for the flower girl to carry. This way she has a floral bouquet of sorts, but can still toss petals.

Boutonniere

Today I wanted to feature boutonniere's a small detail, yet an important one as it sits on the lapel of the grooms jacket! In the 50's carnations were all the rage, the 80's saw roses as the only way to go, but todays bride wants something different and todays grooms usually wants his boutonniere to be done a little smaller and low key. Here are a few ideas.

For a yellow wedding, with yellow flowers, Billy Balls are a fun, yet masculine flower.

You can't get much simpler than a single green kermit mum. Many grooms like their boutonniere's to be kept simple on their wedding day.

For those brides using blue and yellow a yellow tulip with blue hydrangea adds a crisp look for this wedding look.

Red Anemone, a favorite and a bit different for the classic red wedding.

And last of all the white rose, but with berry and fern embellishment to add texture to your grooms tuxedo
